Virgin Voyages

I hold Gold First Mate status with Virgin Voyages, and it’s one of the two cruise lines I specialize in.

Virgin Voyages doesn’t try to be a traditional cruise line. That’s the whole point. Every sailing is adults-only (18+), gratuities are included in the fare, and the design sensibility leans boutique-hotel-at-sea rather than classic cruise ship. Restaurants are all included with no main dining room in sight, and the entertainment leans toward late-night, high-energy programming over splashy production shows.

This is a distinct vibe: think tattoo parlor onboard, wellness-focused spa, and a crowd that skews younger and trendier than the mainstream lines. Because it’s adults-only, it’s an easy recommendation for couples, friend groups, and milestone-birthday trips, but it’s automatically off the table for anyone traveling with kids. Pricing tends to feel more all-inclusive upfront than competitors, since drinks, Wi-Fi, and tips are already baked into the fare.

Best for: Couples and friend groups without kids, travelers who want a more boutique, adults-only atmosphere, anyone tired of the “family mega-resort at sea” feel.

Why book Virgin Voyages with me

I’ve completed Virgin Voyages’ full Seacademy certification program and hold Gold First Mate status, their highest advisor tier. That means I’ve done the training on what’s actually included versus what you’ll pay extra for, which ships and itineraries suit which travelers, and how to make their flexible booking policies work in your favor.
